How to Enter
1. Post a photo of your hot chocolate on Instagram!
When you are at one of our participating cafes or shops enjoying a hot chocolate, whip out your phone and take a picture of your drink. Then post it on your Instagram feed.
2. The Important part -> There are TWO steps to enter!
These steps and the tags are different from previous festivals.
1) Tag us directly onto your photo at @hotchocolatefest AND
2) In the caption box write #HCFphotocontest2024 as your 1st word.
The first step will send your photo to our tagged feed, the second lets us know that you intend it for the contest.
Then your photo will be entered in to win one of eight grand prizes worth $1,700 in total.
3. What Else?
UNLIKE IN PREVIOUS FESTIVALS, THIS YEAR YOU MAY ENTER THE CONTEST WITH REELS AS WELL AS WALL POSTS, ALTHOUGH STILL NOT STORIES AS THEY DO NOT STAY AROUND LONG ENOUGH FOR US TO COUNT THEM.
IF YOUR ACCOUNT IS SET 'PRIVATE' WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR TAGS. YOU MUST ALLOW US TO FOLLOW YOU. DM US TO REQUEST A FOLLOW. Your account will remain private as we only view posts where we are tagged or have been requested to look at.
Unfortunately this year, due to changes imposed by Instagram regarding how they store and file hashtagged photos, our daily photo sorter no longer works, and thus we will not be able to post daily updates as proof that your entry was received. We understand this was a service you liked and we are trying to find another solution. In the meantime, you can always check down our feed of tagged photos to find your entry. However, as Instagram no longer offers the option of the "most recent" filter they may not be on or near the top.
But everything else and the final result will be the same. We will still be able to feed all entries to the random selector on Prize Day and the more photos you have entered, the greater your chances of winning.
The draw for prizes will be drawn and announced on February 14, 2024 around 9 p.m..
